AFC Alumni Game Day Performance 11/16/08

Hello Alumni!

Great news!! Mark your calendars for the Falcons vs. Broncos game on November 16, 2008!! I have been given the final okay for us to perform during pre-game again this year. Of course, I will provide more details and specifics when I have all of the pertinent information. In the meantime, here are some answers to some of your questions you may have.

Game Day Routine
We are doing the same routine from before. This will work out perfect due to time constraints, it’s a great routine, and most of the Alumni know it or can pick it back up again quickly. Please plan on being in the same groups you were assigned before to help make the planning easier. We will have different formations this time to change it up a bit on the field.

TENNIS SHOES
The other thing I wanted to mention is that we’ll be wearing white tennis shoes again for the performance. It’s okay for them to have some color, but make sure they are majority white.

DANCE GROUPS
I will start getting copies of the music and instructional DVDs to Alumni mailed in the next 2 weeks for Alumni needing these items again. Please contact me as soon as possible with your mailing information if any of these item(s) are needed. Please plan on dancing in your previous groups. It will change slightly once we have a better idea for who is performing and who will be joining us after including our new Alumni and the Alumni MIA.

Game Day Attire/DVDs/Group Photo
We are working with a limited budget from the Falcons. As a result, we are not getting new dance pants and are wearing the same black dance pants worn before. However, we will get a totally NEW and DIFFERENT shirt to wear that will flatter everyone. Once pricing is confirmed, I will give you one price that will cover the cost of your shirt and game day DVDs. Regarding filming of our routine, I have submitted a request for the use of 2 camera angles of our performance. One would be to see all of us on the field performing the routine and the other where they do random close-ups of the performers. Also, I have a request for us to take another group shot too at the Dome.

Did not perform at last Reunion / Missing Instructional DVD, music CD, & Black Dance Pants
If you performed, please check first to see if you can locate these items and that your DVDs and CDs are working and your dance pants are in wearable condition. If not, in the checklist below, mark the item(s) that you need. Of course, if you didn’t perform and didn’t receive any of these, you will need to check all of these items along with your dance pant sizes. The dance pants are the same ones the AFC perform in that have the V top. Please include your name and mailing address along with dance pants size if applicable.

Practices for Game Day Performance
We anticipate practices to begin in September after Labor Day until our game day performance. The choreographers (Kelly Stewart Barker, Jakene Ashford, Kristy Korpieski Carder, & Melvina Edwards) and I are in the process of locating places for rehearsal. Of course, you will be given details and a schedule as soon as we find out.

Game Day Tickets
All of the AFC Alumni performing and in attendance will receive a ticket for the game. I have sent in a request to the Falcons about providing tickets for purchase for our family and friends. Of course, I’ll keep you updated with details.

2008 AFC Alumni Dues
The dues are $20 and will help to offset the costs of postage, supplies, etc. If you are performing, your dues must be paid.

Please spread the word to AFC Alumni who are not registered. I look forward to seeing everyone. Dust off those pom poms!!!
