AFC Alumni Game Day Performance 11/16/08
Hello Alumni!
Great news!! Mark your calendars for the Falcons vs. Broncos game on November 16, 2008!! I have been given the final okay for us to perform during pre-game again this year. Of course, I will provide more details and specifics when I have all of the pertinent information. In the meantime, here are some answers to some of your questions you may have.
Game Day Routine
We are doing the same routine from before. This will work out perfect due to time constraints, it’s a great routine, and most of the Alumni know it or can pick it back up again quickly. Please plan on being in the same groups you were assigned before to help make the planning easier. We will have different formations this time to change it up a bit on the field.
TENNIS SHOES
The other thing I wanted to mention is that we’ll be wearing white tennis shoes again for the performance. It’s okay for them to have some color, but make sure they are majority white.
DANCE GROUPS
I will start getting copies of the music and instructional DVDs to Alumni mailed in the next 2 weeks for Alumni needing these items again. Please contact me as soon as possible with your mailing information if any of these item(s) are needed. Please plan on dancing in your previous groups. It will change slightly once we have a better idea for who is performing and who will be joining us after including our new Alumni and the Alumni MIA.
Game Day Attire/DVDs/Group Photo
We are working with a limited budget from the Falcons. As a result, we are not getting new dance pants and are wearing the same black dance pants worn before. However, we will get a totally NEW and DIFFERENT shirt to wear that will flatter everyone. Once pricing is confirmed, I will give you one price that will cover the cost of your shirt and game day DVDs. Regarding filming of our routine, I have submitted a request for the use of 2 camera angles of our performance. One would be to see all of us on the field performing the routine and the other where they do random close-ups of the performers. Also, I have a request for us to take another group shot too at the Dome.

Alumni Stars on the Rise
Lisa Guerrero – Former AFC Director – Some of the AFC Alumni from 89-90 were able to meet Lisa for dinner. It was great seeing her and catching up. Also, some of the AFC Alumni and current AFC were able to support her Atlanta movie premiere for “A Plumm Summer”. It’s playing for a limited time at the Roswell Startime Movie Theatre and is a wonderful movie for the family. Here’s a group shot of us at dinner.

Angela Mitchell – Congratulations to Angela! She’s very excited to announce she’ll be appearing in a recurring role (3 episodes) in a new Sitcom scheduled to air this coming fall on BET called "Somebodies". Southern Belles” Summer Spirit Camp
It takes place on the University of Georgia campus 7/14/08 – 7/16/08 (individuals or groups can attend). This is the third year Shelly has hosted and directed the camp, and it is staffed by current and former UGA Cheerleaders and Dance Dawgs. Kristy Korpieski Carder also serves as the camp manager and an instructor. They would LOVE to have your daughter join them for camp this summer! AFC Alumni Upcoming Reminders - 2008
Hello Alumni!
I wanted to remind you of some upcoming events. I will be combining the June and July AFC Newsletter and sending out in the next week or two.
A Plumm Summer Movie - Evening with Lisa Coles Guerrero www.aplummsummer.com
I hope that you and your family and friends will be able to attend and support Lisa's new movie. Please spread the word even if you can't attend and don't forget to RSVP. This will help with the head count for the refreshments that will be served. Complimentary pizza and soft drinks will be served that Friday, June 27th from 5:30PM to 7:00PM at the Star Time Movie Theater in Roswell. The movie, A Plumm Summer, will be shown immediately after the reception and everyone is responsible for their own movie ticket purchases. Of course, the movie ticket sales will help the promotion for the movie. Remember, all AFC Alumni and friends and family are invited. This is a great movie for children.
Atlanta Falcons Jr. Cheerleaders Program
The Junior Cheerleaders Program is designed for girls ages 5-16. There are no tryouts and all skill levels are accepted. The registration deadline is July 1st if slots are still available. Southern Belles” Summer Spirit Camp
It takes place on the University of Georgia campus 7/14/08 – 7/16/08 (individuals or groups can attend). This is the third year Shelly has hosted and directed the camp, and it is staffed by current and former UGA Cheerleaders and Dance Dawgs. Kristy Korpieski Carder also serves as the camp manager and an instructor. They would LOVE to have your daughter join them for camp this summer! They are also extending a special discount to any alumni who registers a camper (or for any friends of alumni who register their daughter). The golf tournament is Monday, June 9th at the Legends at Chateau Elan and is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m. I will need volunteers to help out before then at the registration table, etc. Also, I will mainly need volunteers to sit outside on the course helping with various contests we will have. I'm thinking from about 12:30 to 6:00. The silent auction and live auctions are going to be the night before at our Pre-Tournament event party at Ray's on the River!!! We are really excited about this location, as you know they have terrific food! It's going to be Sunday, June 8th in the afternoon/evening sometime. We don't have an exact time yet! I will also need some volunteers at this event because of the auctions and various things that will be going on. If you can volunteer on Sunday or Monday, you and a guest are invited to come to Ray's on the River and bring a guest for free. We will have dinner, drinks, music, auctions, and much more! Again, let me say that any time you can help out will be GREATLY appreciated!!!!
Just a reminder to everyone....last year we raised $55,000.00 to give to our two charities!!! $10,000 went to the R.A.C.K. Foundation for the two college scholarships for a male and female of Derek's high school in MN and $45,000 went to the Fragile Kids Foundation.

Let’s get our AFC Alumni Networking going again. It’s been a while since a formal list has been provided. I can separate into categories in a spreadsheet and also place in our AFC Alumni blog. Please forward me your information and how you want me to present it for our Networking community. January/February Newsletter 2008
Hello Alumni!!!
It’s 2008 and I’m excited about the upcoming year for the AFC Alumni! This will be our reunion year for performing again. Of course, I’ll keep you all informed with details once the specifics and the final approval is worked out with the Falcons. Also, because it’s a new year, I want to make sure that our data base is updated with current addresses and phone numbers. I’ll send that file separately to you within a week.

Congratulations to Angeline Butler and hubby with their little quarterback addition! Dylan was born at 4 AM on September 10th and weighed 5 lbs and 2 oz. He came into this world 3 weeks earlier than expected, but he is doing well. Dylan’ s Mommy, Daddy and beautiful big sister are doing great.
